Visible Storytelling: Khirkee Voice

Watch online the live conversation between the two founders of the New Delhi community newspaper Khirkee Voice and curator Carolina Lio. Now published on Visible's IGTV and YouTube channel.

In this video, Malini Kochupillai and Mahavir Singh Bisht, founders of Khirkee Voice, are in conversation with Visible curator Carolina Lio.

Khirkee Voice is a quarterly publication produced and distributed in the urban village of Khirki Extension, south of New Delhi. The population of Khirki is constituted mainly of immigrants, primarily from Somalia and Afghanistan, who face discrimination and struggle to integrate. Through the community newspaper, free skill development workshops and open spaces for dialogue, Khirkee Voice creates shared platforms between locals, members of the African diaspora and Afghan refugees.

Visible Storytelling is a project by Visible (Cittadellarte - Fondazione Pistoletto and Fondazione Zegna) curated by Carolina Lio. It aims to narrate some of the stories behind the projects in the Visible Archive, a platform that researches, produces and connects long-term socially engaged art projects, working with artists dealing with the urgencies of our times.

Visible Storytelling's videos are produced by Looking Forward. Looking Forward also curated the social media campaign associated with the project on Visible Instagram.
